VACANCIES

The recruitment and development of an exceptional team of practitioners is a top priority for us at Saint Gabriel’s College.

Our team comprises committed professionals who are invested in ensuring that each member of our community fulfils their God-given potential. We are clear that our aim for students to secure the very best outcomes relies upon our ability to deliver high standards of teaching and learning as well as our provision of high quality professional development.

Why work for us?

We moved into a brand new school building in October 2018 after spending two years in temporary accommodation. We are now oversubscribed and our diverse intake of students each year is a real reflection of the diverse community we serve.

We have high ambitions for our students and we want them to have access to a world-class education. In 2018, we were delighted to be recognised by Ofsted as a ‘good’ school whose provision for our students’ personal development and welfare is ‘outstanding’. We are a successful, well-led school with a supportive staff who are friendly, collaborative and enjoy enriching the lives of our students each day.

Saint Gabriel’s College is a great place to work. We have an excellent team of dedicated staff and we are privileged to work with such wonderful young people. By joining us, you will be entitled to the following additional benefits:

  • Funding for a range of Masters qualifications to support your development

We offer grants to staff who wish to pursue a Masters qualification as we recognise that expert staff will do an expert job.

  • Access to our Professional Development Pathways programme

We have developed a CPD programme that is tailored to each person’s needs enabling them to become better practitioners and support their career progression. Staff can choose to join our Expert Teacher Pathway, the Leadership Pathway or the Expert Support Pathway.

  • Confidential coaching sessions

For those wishing to improve their professional practice, build their career pathway or improve their work-life balance, we offer coaching to unlock their full potential.

  • Confidential counselling sessions

For those who would like further support with their health and wellbeing, we provide counselling sessions that are led by a fully qualified counsellor.

  • Cycle to work scheme

We are dedicated to environmental sustainability and encourage as many members of staff to cycle to work as possible. We work with Lambeth to support staff to do this if they’d like to take up cycling.

  • Annual travel season ticket loan

We work with Lambeth to provide loans for annual travel season tickets to ensure that this cost is affordable.

We want to ensure that our staff maintain a healthy work-life balance.

We believe that lessons are better taught when teachers have enough time to plan, prepare and assess. All teachers receive a minimum of 5 hours of non-contact time each week during the school day.

Continuing Professional Development

Continuing professional development is a high priority for us at Saint Gabriel’s College. We heavily invest in our staff to ensure that we maintain our excellent provision for students. All of our staff have access to a wide range of development opportunities to support them to improve and refine their practice as well as support their career development.

For teaching staff, we offer additional staff benefits including:

  • Full annual membership to the Chartered College of Teaching

We are committed to ensuring that all of our teaching staff are expert practitioners who are engaged in evidence-based practice.

  • Support to complete fully funded National Professional Qualifications

These are nationally recognised accredited qualifications that support our leaders, or aspiring leaders, to realise their full potential.

  • Opportunities to take on paid school improvement roles over short periods of time

We are fully committed to developing the leadership potential of our staff in order to maximise their impact on students.

  • Weekly professional development sessions for experienced teachers and those new to the profession

Teaching staff meet every Friday morning for dedicated training time where we share best practice and further enhance our skills.

We hope that you will be able to see your place with us here at Saint Gabriel’s College and make an application to join our committed team. Prospective candidates are always more than welcome to come and visit the school prior to submitting an application.
